Outdoorsy Holiday Gift Guide

From your weekend adventurer to your backcountry exploring, these are the gifts to get!

Over the past year I have been able to work with so many amazing outdoor brands, putting them all to the Alaskan test! With that, I picked out a few of my favorite brands and specific items to share with you this holiday season. I launched this guide as a three part series on my Instagram account all to meet a differernt need - The Stocking Stuffers, The Weekend Adventurer, and The Backcountry Explorer. About The Brands - Think SMALL(er)

I was very thoughtful when I came to which brands I wanted to share in this. All of these brands are small (or smaller) in the outdoor industry but doing something BIG for it. Whether that is protecting our waterways, manufacturing their goods in the USA or giving back - either way I wanted to help get their name out there.

Disclaimer: Although I am an affliate and/or ambassador for SOME of these brands, I was never paid to feature them in this guide. I truly use these brands in my outdoorsy lifestyle - but if you follow me on socials all of these brand names will look familiar!

GUIDE ONE: The Stocking Stuffers

1 Alaska Tallow - Alaska weather is ROUGH on skin. @alaskatallow keeps my hands protected from the harsh climate so the adventures don’t have to stop when the weather turns colder. I LOVE the Mighnight Sun whipped tallow and the lip balms.

2. Heather’s choice - who wouldn’t want a stocking full of Heather's Choice packaroons?! The lemon lavender is a personal fave BUT the seasonal flavors are also DELICIOUS. Simple treat to throw in a pack while adventuring. Plus - they’re made with whole ingredients.

3. Alpine Fit - Women owned business based out of AK that also makes all of their gear in the US (and some even in Alaska). Their merino headband is not only adorable but also a great outdoor accessory. Not a headband person? Their merino hat is also a fave.

4. Stream to Sea - if you’re outdoorsy chance’s are you strive to treat Mother Nature with the utmost respect - so, meet @stream2sea .

- The only scientifically proven reef safe sunscreen on the market.

- Readily Biodegradable in Fresh & Salt Water, Sustainable Low Eco Impact Packaging.

- actually free of harmful ingredients

(@yuka_app_us has them rated as “excellent”)

GUIDE TWO: The Weekend Adventurer

Whether they’re new to the adventure lifestyle or a seasoned hiker, these gifts are worth checking out!

1. @woolxwool : family owned business based out of New York, I’ve been wearing them for about a year and have loved every piece. Their leggings and tops look good as is, it also make great base layers for those COLD days.

2. @thenomadik - perfect for building that outdoor kit or just wanting to try out new products. Nalgene has been outdoor staple in the industry for good reasons. USA made and BPS/BPA free plus hardy enough to withstand being tossed around a bit. Have you heard of Epic Water Filters though? As the name suggests they make some pretty epic water filters - even ones that are specifically made to fit that already beloved Nalgene! Super convenient to have in a day pack for a simple drinking water solution 🙌🏼

GUIDE THREE: The Backcountry Explorer

This part has been MONTHS in the making. Everything here I personally put through the Alaskan test to ensure they held up. Whether it was hiking off trail or hunting, these were some of my fave items to have.

1. @mavenbuilt B1.2binoculars: multiple bear hunts, multiple caribou, two moose hunts, sheep, plus wildlife scouting/viewing- and that’s just this last season. Each time we had our @mavenbuilt with us. Crystal clear glass helping us better identify the wildlife we were pursuing. These are a hunting staple in our house.

2. @hollowsocks - USA made alpaca socks! With many of the same great properties as my fave merino but with a few fiber differences. They can dry out a bit faster and given their hollow fibers can trap heat a more efficiently. On a ultralight hunt where only 1 pair of socks can be brought - these are what I’m going for.

3. All-Clima Soft Shell from @forloh_official - Outdoor apparel that is 100% USA made?! Sign me up! My jacket has been put through the Alaskan test on multiple hunts, bushwhacking adventures, and windy mountain treks.

4. Last but not least - @recpakco . Backcountry nutrient doesn’t get much simpler - just add water and shake. Easy 700 cals PLUS vitamins + minerals. I always have one in my pack for emergencies but they have also been my go-to on longer treks where I’m trying to conserve pack weight.
