Who is Carly on the Kenai - The Outdoorsy Alaskan

Hi readers! My names Carly Padrta and I live full time on the Kenai Peninsula in south central Alaska. I am your typical outdoorsy Alaskan who spends most of their time enjoying the best things Alaska has to offer - the pristine beauty, the trails, fishing, wildlife, you name it. I am a freelance photographer specializing in brand/commercial photography and assisting in social media content creation.

Believe it or not...

I never grew up super outdoorsy. At most my mom would take me camping once a year and other than that I would have the occasional summer lake or river day trips. I got a better taste for the outdoors in my later teen years where I took up snowboarding and became friends with individuals who were anglers. This surprises most people given HOW outdoorsy I am now. I had a few friends who were pivotal in shaping who I became as an adult.

I realized how difficult it is to learn some of the hobbies I have when not given the same environment and opportunities that I had in my later youth. I can be extremely intimidating to learn as an adult. This is what encouraged me to start a secondary instagram page - @She.rewilded - to help guide individuals in living a life more with nature. Personally, I have experienced so much mental an physical benefit from being outdoors and I want to be able to share that same experience with others.

What's next...

I want to continue to grow @She.rewild and my main account @Carly_on_the_kenai. I absolutely love doing outdoor brand photography and that role has awarded me so many opportunities. Since running two social media accounts, a small business, and being a mom doesn't already sound like a lot I have decided to also start actively blogging, creating "guides" and doing product reviews.
